sunday aesthetics

I figured I'd use 'aesthetics' as I heard all the cool kids are into aestethics these days. aesthetics. I also noticed that the Danish term "hygge" is apparently trending on Youtube and in the bloggersphere. How did that happen? I saw hygge in articles about Denmark being the happiest country in the world a couple of times already, but I didn't realize that people are actually making it a thing online now. It's super funny to me, because the word doesn't translate into English very well, so every time someone is like "omg we're so hygge" it makes no fucking sense and majority of Danes seeing their posts/videos are probably all like "???????" hahaha.
Anyway...
I know, it's been a while. My blog has been silent for majority of the year and to be honest with you (if any of my readers are even out there anymore), I lost my mojo. I had so much shit to deal with since October last year, and applying for the scholarship back in January-June was so stressful that it was pretty much all I had on my mind for majority of the year. Now, you're probably thinking "Scholarship? What?" And yeah well.. I applied for the Korean Government Scholarship Program to get my MA in Korean Studies in Korea - and I got it. I got the scholarship. I am currently in Korea, studying at Busan University of Foreign Studies - however, I am not here for the actual MA. The program includes 1 year of language studies and 2 years of MA studies. I got here in August and will be here till July next year (most likely) finishing my year of language studies and then moving on to my actual MA studies at Yonsei Graduate School of International Studies next summer. If you're an OG reader, you'll know that Yonsei is the uni I went to for my study-abroad year back in 2012 and yes, kids, momma is coming home, haha! I can't wait. But for now, I'm enjoying some amazing times in Busan, and I've already been blessed with so many new, amazing friends and adventures. To be honest, a little part of me still cannot believe that I am actually here and that I, of all the people in this world, got her wish granted this past spring.

What else has been going on? I'm sure you guys are here for photos (especially the food porn), and I will give you that - no worries. But let's catch up a bit first, shall we?

1. I got the scholarship as I mentioned and am currently in Namsandong, Busan, with the peeps upthere ^
2. My birthday is coming up next week
3. I broke my leg about 3 weeks ago
4. Said broken leg didn't see a doctor until I felt forced to go to the hospital after walking on a severely sprained ankle for 10 days. lol
5. My ankle surprisingly was not broken, but I cracked my shin pretty severely and am now in a cast.. thing.. which is highly inconvenient and I can't walk around much.
6. I have the most amazing Bulgarian room mate and she and I are super similar, which our respective families find quite hilarious - we do too. haha!
7. Koreans love medication and I've been pretty much sedated for the past 2 weeks. I literally have no clue what's happened and don't even remember being in class at all.
8. My parents sent me a huge box from home with tons of goodies for me and my roomie, as I - due to classes - won't be able to go home for Christmas. So here's to another year without Danish Christmas for me.
9. Next weeekend, though, my roomie and I organized a small Christmas morning gathering with out little group of 6 girls who've all grown quite close over the past 3 months. Can't wait for everyone to open their presents! Let's hope the last two ones arrive in the mail.. soon lol.
10. The medicine I was on was so strong that it scared me and I stopped taking it. I am going back to the hospital tomorrow (Monday) to talk to the doctor and get x-rays done again. Gotta make sure the leg is healing properly!
11. Invested in this VEGAN PROTEIN POWDER to make shakes and it's super super awful. Goodbye money. Goodbye protein gainzz.
12. That said, iHerb is quite nice! You can use my code LIN9012 for a 10% discount on your first purchase! Wooh! If you're a Dane though, beware of customs! :((
13. Oh, I'm also vegan/plant based now.
14. My beloved Ivan passed away the beginning of September, so that really sucked. I'd hoped he'd have hung in there till I get back in February. But he got his rest, I am happy that he is no longer in pain.
15. Oh yeah, I'm going back to see my family in February! My only break from class is in February, wtf. Such stress :((
16. Due to the scholarship all I do is take TOPIK tests, I feel. It's awful.
17. That said, I get to speak and practice Korean all the time! Wrahh it's the best!

Alright, that's it. Thanks for reading, y'all (if you did at all, haha)!
Now to the photos!

Ah, my poor leg + ankle. To be honest, my ankle hurts a lot more than the cracked shin, though. It's still pretty swollen and it's been 3 weeks, wtf. I fell down from a stairway at a temple in Beomeosa, because I didn't see the gap between the staircase and the construction by the temple. So I just walked to the side as someone said "be careful", and I thought she meant 'Oh watch out, someone wants to pass you' - so I stepped out, fell down and yeah.. the rest is history - however sad. Haha! The stupid thing is that the temple trip (which was supposed to be followed by hiking up the mountain) was a trip arranged by our school as a "culture class" to experience Korean culture. My roomie and I were the only ones SUPER EXCITED about the hiking part! We were so stoked, dressed warmly and going up the first hill to the temple SO excitedly, while everyone else were mainly like "wtf ughhhh I don't wannaaa". Ironic that one of the only ones who REALLY wanted to go, got stuck in the administrations office because apparently they couldn't send me back to the dorm? It's pretty stupid bc after the office closed at around 5PM, I was stuck outside in the cold for about 20-30 minutes before someone came to pick me up.
However.. while they left me in the administrations office and went hiking after I fell, I did get to experience the kindness of Buddhist monks and their love for acupuncture, the Korean hospital trip was interesting indeed and I also first hand experienced the terrors of not knowing what kind of medicine they were giving me. I later found out, though, that the reason I kept tripping, getting super sleepy and drowsy and didn't remember much at all, was because I was on a sedative AND pain killer.. 3 times a day.. originally given to last me for 2 weeks. I'm not sure how Korean students do that, though. I was in class, alright, but I was not.. THERE. lol. Scary indeed. Luckily I'm off that crap, now. We'll see tomorrow how the healing is going for the shin. I know for a fact that the ankle is gonna take a LONG-ass while to heal for sure.

Here's my dorm room desk area! Wooh!  This was taken shortly after I arrived and got settled, now I have more books and stuff here and there. Mmmhh, books ♡

And my side of the room. We have no fridge, no kitchen appliances are allowed and there isn't even a lounge on every floor like at SK Global (Yonsei) where you at least can put your stuff in a bag in a shared fridge. We got nothing, so we use our windowsill as the "fridge". The struggle.. lol. ((and yes, I brought my LoL plushies bc they remind me of epic game nights with potato pizza and RuPaul's Drag Race at NUDDELE's place, ok. ♡))

During a multi-cultural event here at BUFS, I got to be a traditional Korean bride for the hanbok fashion show! Huhuuuu! It was super fun, but also really difficult. We were on our feet for like 7 hours, not allowed to sit unless to get our hair done. Also the organizers had quite the challenge with my hair, bc it's quite short and super soft. What can ya do? They had to tie it up like 3 or 4 times before being able to attach the head piece and hair pin. It looked really nice tho! I felt SO pretty and people complimented me all night, haha! It was such a great experience!

What I eat most of the time - or at least what I used to eat when I could leave my room - boribap, fo' life! At the moment I chow down mostly on takeout bibimbap, tortillas with lettuce or cereal. Such party, very 좋아 - or maybe not. lol My roomie is the bomb, though, cause she runs to the store or the kimbap place and gets me food all the time! Freakin' luv her to bits!

Ahh my parents sent me so many goodies! *_* Nezumi also sent me a package with the most DELICIOUS berry granola, wraaahhh. She also sent me a pack of my favorite tortillas! Haha! Freaking love my vegan wraps, yo! Above is JUST the stuff from my parents though, holy shit. I got me some WASA crisp bread, lots of snacks and candy, new boots for winter (cause it's cold as fuck here, though the temperature shifts from 16 degrees celsius one day to -2 the next), Christmas tree, Christmas + birthday presents AND advent presents, some of my clothes from home and some pain killers + pads for lady-time lol. That may be TMI, but let's be real - Korean pads are HUGE. Even the small ones are SO WIDE they jam into your thighs and it hurts :(( rude much.
This photo is also featuring  my crutches ^ haha.

Current read that my lovely German friend, Michelle lend me! It's super fun already and I can't wait to read further! She told me it was kinda strange, but the defiant personality of the main character reminds me of my roomie quite a lot, haha. So funny! Also love the way it's told in interview-style. I'm actually also reading a Korean book called "I'M" atm, which I'll tell y'all about in a later entry. Just thought it'd put it out there, haha. I'm so cultured, oh em gee.

Ahem.. anyway...
So many vlogmas videos to keep up with! Wrahh! Freaking love December and I love that more and more of my favorite Youtubers are getting into vlogging as well : D I prefer vlogs over anything, tbh. I don't care for adverts or hauls and favorites videos anymore.. I wanna see what y'all are up to! Haha. Who cares what mascara you use, when I can see you feed your cat, make coffee and run to Trader Joe's for groceries instead >: D In case you're curious, I'm currently watching these vlogmas series:

Ahh, isn't it just the best feeling to sit with your coffee in the morning and catch up on vlogmas? Favorite time of year, aaahhh~!

And a group shot of the KGSP BUFS 2016 peeps! WOOH!

Hope you enjoyed! I'll try to find the motivation to do more shit for y'all. Haha, I wanna film videos again too, but I need to pick myself out of the self-pitying "everything hurts and I can't fucking walk"-gutter and get my shit sorted. I will say tho that now that I'm off the meds, I feel much better! The side effects were so severe and I cannot BELIEVE that I don't remember ANYTHING from the past two weeks being on them. Talk about effective sedatives, lol.

Have a good one, and happy holidays! I'll def. make a post about our Christmas funsies next week! And maybe even a mid-week post for my birthday, huhu! Alright, getting carried away here.. no more promises! I can't believe how much I missed blogging, though, haha. I feel so accomplished writing this.  I have midterms next week though, which I should be studying for, but my memory for the past 2 weeks is quite hazy, so I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to do or what's gonna happen. lol. So sad. What's also sad is that the first midterm is on my damn birthday, arhhh. How dare they!? :(( lol.

Stay well, y'all!
MUCH LOVE

MCM Korea x 보그 패션 나잇 아웃 2012 (샤이니 키, 비스트 현승, SS501 형준, 박재범 등)

Hey there! I got the epic pictures taken by the epic photographer at the epic MCM x Vogue Fashion Night Out event in September last year w000t! How epic is that? I know.. SUPER.. EPIC. I wanna take this quick opportunity to first of all thank our good friend - without this amazing person, we wouldn't have had this once in a lifetime experience ^3^)/ thank you! 베리판니! ♡ ㅋㅋ Please, you guys, since I don't own the rights to these (but simply got permission to use them on my blog) don't go spreading them around, removing the tag etc. If you absolutely cannot resist reposting on other sites (tumblr, twitter etc.) please give full credit to this site and link back to this entry in particular. I give all picture-taking-props to the photographer at the event - thanks for the many (and awesome) pictures ^__^)/ ~ ♡ hoho! Even though some of the pics aren't very flattering for me... -__- ugh damn being taller than most people here - including the photographers, lol. BUT we (I, Kat and Nezumi) super much appreciate the entire night! So thanks to all staff for treating us like royalty! I will put small captions below some of the pics to explain what's going on.. for your convenience ; D Hehe! Now please.. enjoy! I bet some of these goodies are unseen by most of you ^__~)v
Noms! I acquired a very good friend in the champagne hence why my face is derp in most pictures. lol
LEO! This collection is beyond epic! G-Dragon's bday present from MCM was also featuring some of the LEO stuff and oh my god, it is orgasmic. -sobs- If you get the chance, stop by any MCM store ok! You must!
The DJ! He did an amazing job AND he speaks German! w00t!
Nezumi and I looking at the "pick the most popular style". I'm all for the Stark! Haha!
The DJ and his good friend John, whom we got to talk to quite a lot. He's part German and I got to flex my epic German skills! Haha he was so nice and got a good talk with the trainees that performed at the event later during the night.
Here we are! Talking to John ^__^)/ He and I fell in love... with the same backpack! God dammit! I wonder if he got it.. haha! John, if you're out there.. holla at me ok! LOL let a girl know!
There were two "teams" of trainees that performed. I have no idea what label they are from, but they're set to debut this year ^__^)/ so please.. 많이사랑해주세요! They did an amazing job both of the teams.. there was this super cool guy in a studded denim vest (denim vests are the bomb!) and he wore a BOY London tshirt, from what I remember.. He was.. well, let's just say he's my bias already! Haha.

If you can't tell, I'm well into the champagne by now.. lol. From left to right: Me, Kat, Nezumi, the vice-president of MCM, John and Mr. Kim ^3^)/
Oh look, it's Jay Park! Haha, he's beyond cool. Sadly we didn't get to talk to him at all :C boo! Maybe some other time.. /sigh. I love his new MV btw, did you all see it yet? HERE'S a link. Hehe! Get it get it!
B2ST's Hyunseung made a short appearance too ^__^)/ he's soooo pretty irl! Very handsome and super nice and humble. It was so surprising to see him all "high" at the UNITED CUBE concert ㅎㅎ..
Oh look who that is! SS501's Hyungjoon! He's SOOO nice! omg and he held my waist when we took the picture >: D That's probably why my face turned out all derp.. trololol. He told me my Korean was good -sobs- I don't remember if I told you in my original event entry, but he made a girl cry.. haha! He shook her hand and she BURST into tears. The poor guy looked all confused and as I stood next to her, I guess I was the first to get eye contact with him. Haha poor fella. It's okay, I'm sure she meant well.. with.. all the tears.. and the sobbing. Haha

And lastly.. Some SHINee Key footage! w00t. I have many more pictures (a total of 129 in fact) but I didn't wanna spill it all. Some of it is secret and for me and my friends to enjoy on our cold, lonely nights when we go back to Denmark this summer. Haha!
Hope you enjoyed!

Much love

드디어돌아왔나봐..

source: SOOMPI

I've been watching HEARTSTRINGS for the past week's time. I saw a lot of pics (like THIS one) on TUMBLR and decided to give it a go, and I gotta admit that I was pleasantly surprised. I usually don't like Park Shin Hye (mostly because her characters are always brain dead and spine-less (kinda like "Mary" in Marry Me Mary)) but she is so awesome in this one.. and of course, Yonghwa. You sexy little motherfucker, youuu! His fellow band-mate (CN.BLUE), Minhyuk did a terrific job as well! So cute! Haha. You should all check it out! Actually there's a CN.BLUE fansigning event today here in Shinchon, but fangirls are usually plenty and very aggressive.. so I rarely go to these events. They scare the living shit out of me to be honest. Also you are usually required to have bought the album at the particular store (that the event is taking place in) and then place your receipt in a small box. At the event they will then call your name/information and you can come in and get your CD signed (at least that's what Nezumi told me). It all sounds so complicated. phuu~ T_T I prefer meeting idols at cafés or through my good friend.. all this fuss stresses me out and usually gives a really awkward impression.. I dunno. Maybe I'm just being stupid and picky because I can be.
Anyway, I guess you're all wondering what I've been up to ever since my last post (which was about 100 years ago), huh? I'm sorry. I've had no motivation nor energy to post. I started going to the gym really late at night, which is super nice! I skipped yesterday though, but I'm going tonight instead. I go 4 times a week and it's really nice. It helps me release a lot of tension and built-up energy (and anger, lol). To tell you all the truth, my mood has been fucking ridiculous lately. Anyway, let's not talk about that..

I went to the 성훈 (Sunghoon, actor and MCM's main model) fan-meeting in the end of January and it was fucking awesome! But we were kind of "invited" to go there, and there weren't that many people, so it was all good : D We all went out to dinner (me, Kat, Nezumi, the CEO, Sunghoon, his hot friend Yohan who fed me potatoes and whose voice is ridiculously/sexily deep, some staff members and so on and so forth) afterwards. Ahh! It was a really nice experience ^__^)/ apparently a few of the staff members thought we were celebrities from Denmark because we were there.. o__o lol and some Japanese women came over and gave me a camera. I thought they wanted me to take their photo, but they were just waving the camera at me to ask if I would be in a picture with them. Haha! So cute! So they all took turns to take pictures with me and Nezumi! I guess we looked cool that day : P Hoho!
We also went on our first trip outside of Seoul! We had these delicious waffles with Hee-Oog (a Korean friend that we met in Denmark) and he invited us to go meet his mother and have lunch at his place : D So cool!
We went to Cheonan! Yes, we did! Road trip was ON and it was super fun! : D We all decided that we're definitely taking the train when we go to Busan. Also, it appears that handsome guys like to go by train ; D Noted, indeed. Hoho!
We went to his mom's house! She prepared a lovely lunch for us (ddeokguk, nyamnyam!) and tons of side dishes! It was DEEEELISH and his mom loved to talk! Hehehehehee.
Hee-Oog then took us to this fancy museum-kind-of-place with super pretty buildings and shit. It was awesome.. and super fun! His Danish is yet to improve (열심히공부해야한다고!!!) but his small phrases are so fucking cute.. He ran around and kept putting his coffee cup in the most random places outside the buildings there (cause you weren't allowed to bring drinks inside) and as soon as we finished seeing the exhibition he'd run off for his coffee going "Kaffetid! Kaffetid!" (means "coffee time" in Danish) BAHAHAHA so cute..
Enough of that.. I also played a lot of HAYDAY! That game is fucking dope and look! I found myself as a horse in the game.. LOLOL the hair. The most epic part? The horse does hairflips. HAHAHAHA omg.
We went to the UNITED CUBE concert on Feb. 2nd! Our seats were great and all my biases (except Ilhoon T_T) came to our side of the stage and danced around and blew kisses! (HYUNA TOO OMG SHE'S SO PRETTY IRL AND SHE'S SO CUTE AND FUNNY AND AHHHHHH) Next time, Ilhoon, I will get youuuuu! :'C bish.
but omg Hyuna.. did I mention how lovely and pretty and cute and funny she is? AHHH. I can't even.. I die... -sobs forever- She got SOOOO skinny tho T_T SO skinny.. like.. please don't lose more weight, Hyuna! Your booty is all gone :C
Aaaaand then.. we went to our fav. café to hang out with our good friend : D Yay! I discretely censored his face tho.. please excuse that. LOL
and this is me being attractive on Nezumi's birthday (which I will post more about later!)

Lastly, a bit of sex for you guys.. because I kept you on the wait for a new entry for so long.
-sobs-

isn't he just perfect?

nom nom husband nom nom

Have a good one, guys!
I will be back with more details about Nezumi's birthday later on.

Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2012 ^__^)/~

Oh hi there,
Do you like the new layout? Keke

It's featuring the perfect creation that is Kris from EXO-M.
Ahh, isn't he just wonderful? /wipes tear/

Ahem~! Anyway...
I made my way back safely from the fireworks festival held in Seoul last night. Ugh, there were so many people. 150,000 at the very least! It felt as if the entire population of Seoul was gathered at the Han Park. My god, it was horrible getting there and even worse trying to get back. We left the park around 10PM and didn't arrive in Shinchon until around 1AM. We walked around near the highway, were yelled at by idiot Korean guys who felt the need to scream "Wow! Where are you going?", "OH YEAHH" and "HELLOOOOO" at us from their cars -__-" Are you fucking me... So annoying. Anyway, around 11:30 we finally found a cab and after about 1.5 hours in horrible traffic we made it home to Shinchon. /sigh. It was a NIGHTMARE. Traffic was insane as hell. Anyway, I managed to snap a few photos. Sadly the first fireworks photo is the only one in good quality (they're all taken with my iPhone).. Don't ask me why the rest of them suck :C I really don't know. They looked fine on my phone but then like shit when transferred. /sobs. Oh well~~
Supposedly there was a "Kpop Concert" at 5:30PM. Yeah, not much kpop about that.. Some shitty group named Super Kid(?) and then lots of old people singing sad songs.. don't know what that was about. Kat said that when she was there back in 2010 there were MissA and all sorts of epic groups. But yeah.. the concert this year was SHIT. Utter SHIT.
We left before the 4th group came on. it was too bad to bear.. Either way we wasted over an hour waiting for the show to start. Waste of time indeed.

Instead we went for food! I got a bowl of 참치김치지깨(tuna and kimchi soup) and 치킨돈가스 (breaded chicken filet). The lady first gave me fish O_O" wtf. So I was like "Excuse me, this is not chicken.." she apologized, came back with TWO filets for me and we got a coke for free! SCORE. We made it back in time for the fireworks! Ahh so pretty~!

Only good quality was the first pic T_T Ahh the fireworks were all so pretty tho! I'm scared of fireworks, but they were super far away, so I was okay ^__^" keke.

Also, here's sushi! Noms!
I went with Winston to Stephen's parents' sushi restaurant. Ahh~! His parents are so lovely. And his mom called me pretty... T_T; Thanks, but not really. -__-" I was so sick Thursday/Friday and didn't even make it to class on Friday. I've been feeling utterly shitty (as you do, when you're sick lol) but I'm somewhat better today. My lungs just hurt. /sigh. fml.
To brighter news!
BLOCKTOBER 2012

Oh yes, Block B is coming back! Their new teaser ^ (up there) is fucking epic and I can't wait to rock  out at the clubs to this song! ooOOoo hopefully it's as party-like as it sounds : D Can't wait!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend! Did any of you attend PSY's concert? There were over 80,000 people there! Woah so crazy!
Don't catch a cold, ok?
감기조심하세용~! ㅋㅋ
Much love ^3^)/
